The qualification will provide learners with the necessary skills, knowledge and competence across areas including preparing for events, controlling and monitoring spectators and managing conflict appropriately.

The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety (RQF) meets the minimum requirements defined in the Green Guide: Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds. This enables learners to steward at live match events as well as other live spectator events.
There are no formal entry requirements, but additional criteria may be requested or specified by the centre. However, learners should be aged 16 to undertake this qualification. This qualification is available in England and Northern Ireland.
Progression Routes: Learners seeking progress from this qualification can advance their skills further through the following:
• Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety
• Level 4 NVQ Certificate in Spectator Safety Management
• Licence to Practice qualifications e.g. Door Supervision or Manned Guarding
• Level 2 Award in Front of Stage Pit Barrier Operations
